New players in town!
A new group of actors, the Washboard Road Players, will be performing
in March, 11-13th at the El Museo Cultural. The evening of one act
plays, directed by the respected Maura dhu Studi, will offer themes
of love, titled, "Ones from the Heart".
This accomplished cast of actors, Rick Vasquez, Deborah Hayden,
Sylvie Obledo, Penny Sinone, Hillary Elliot, Magdalyn , Rob and
Steven Schlam, are no strangers to the stage. Each has participated,
in some fashion, to the life of the theatre.
This showcase features the work of a year long, in some cases, two year
study with the director.
What's leftover?
Candle wax on the window, silky white hairs from sleeping dog on the studio
rug, marshmello ice on the patio bricks leftover from the storm, remnants
of tea bag used five times, echoes of Hillary's voice, "That damn bag......."
Memories of Jimmy Cahalan before he transcended this life, prayer flags
gently flapping in the breeze, a coupon flyer in the driveway, ashes in the
wood stove; an unanswered prayer and a missed text, stamps before the
last rate hike and a sore butt from spinning class. What's leftover is you.
What's leftover is me.
